The health of our eyes and vision is very important. Unfortunately, with age and other contributing factors, they begin to deteriorate. From the age of 40, it is normal to begin to experience some changes in your vision, however, the risk of eye conditions also increases, some of which have no obvious symptoms until they are at advanced stages.
It is important to have your eyes checked regularly by an optometrist, in cases where they detect any major changes in your eyes, they can refer you to an ophthalmologist for more comprehensive testing.
At East Melbourne Eye Group our ophthalmologists are all highly experienced in diagnosing and treating general eye conditions. Many of our doctors have undertaken further training and gained additional qualifications in specific conditions or diseases that affect the eye - these are call sub-specialists.
In some instances of your care a more specialised ophthalmic treatment plan is required. If this is the case one our our general ophthalmologists will refer you to a sub-specialist colleague.
