Dr Christopher Buckley


Trained at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and at the Oxford Eye Hospital, UK, Dr Chris has a general ophthalmic practice. He has trained medical students and ophthalmic registrars at large general teaching hospitals including Prince Henry’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre, for over 30 years; and served on the Court of Examiners for the Federal College of Ophthalmology’s final exams for 10 years. His current specialty interests are glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, cataract, corneal diseases, imaging, and therapeutic uses of soft contact lenses.

Chris’ experience in issues affecting the underdeveloped world includes work with Fred Hollows in Central Australia and Cambodia, and Australian South Pacific Eye Consultant Teams in Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands.
