Cataracts

A cataract is the clouding of the natural lens, which generally occurs with age. Surgery is performed to replace the cataract with a new intraocular lens that remains for the rest of your life. It is one of the most successful operations performed and usually through tiny incisions that do not require sutures.

Symptoms include a decline in vision, most noticed while reading, watching television and driving (especially at night). Patients may also experience glare, halos around lights, colour becoming more dull and light sensitivity.

There is no treatment for cataracts other than surgery, our specialists are all highly experienced surgeons and can perform cataract surgery.
